Company scraper and leads
Instead of hunting for prospects by hand, you pick an industry and an area, and the module builds a database of companies — address, phone, website, category and, where one can be found, an e-mail address. You tidy the finished list with statuses and download it as a CSV file for your sales team.
What it's for
- Who it's for: sales and marketing teams building lists of companies to contact.
- Use it when: you want to reach companies in a specific industry and area, and need a ready-made list with contact details instead of looking them up one by one.
- If you want market and pricing analysis rather than a contact list, see the Analytics & pricing module.
Uwaga
Before you send any marketing outreach, you need the recipient's consent required by law. A company simply appearing on the list is not consent to be contacted.
Before you start
- Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
- Module enabled: "Company scraper" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, contact your WebImpact manager.
- What you provide: an industry from the list prepared for your company and an area on the map — nothing to upload.
How to build a company database
- Open Company scraper from your company menu.
- Pick an industry. The list is prepared for your company, so you only see the industries that make sense for you. Missing one? Write to us and we'll add it to your panel.
- Mark the area on the map — a point with a radius around it (up to 50 km) or whole regions. Before you start, check the rough number of companies and narrow or widen the reach accordingly.
- Start the search. It runs in the background — you see the current stage plus two counters: companies found and new ones saved. It usually takes anywhere from tens of seconds to a few minutes.
- Go to the Leads tab. You give each company a handling status, and download the whole list, or just one status, as a CSV for your spreadsheet.
Wskazówka
First time here? Launch the Tour (the "?" button in the panel) — it walks the screen step by step. This page covers what the Tour doesn't: areas, the data in the database and troubleshooting.
What goes into the database
| Data | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Address | The company's location |
| Phone | A contact number, if it's public |
| Website | The company's website address |
| Category | Industry or type of business |
| General mailboxes only (office@, contact@) — named-person addresses are discarded | |
| Business type | A label on every entry marking the kind of business |
Info
Only company data and general contact addresses go into the database. Companies that have objected through our public opt-out form never enter the database at all — not even in later searches.
Lead statuses
You give each company on the list a handling status so you always know where things stand:
- New — a fresh entry, not contacted yet.
- Contacted — an outreach attempt is in progress.
- Qualified — a company worth pursuing further.
- Rejected — the company drops off the list.
You can download the whole list, or just one status, as a CSV file for your spreadsheet.
Limits and notes
- Area reach: a point with a radius up to 50 km, or a selection of whole regions.
- Search time: from tens of seconds to a few minutes — the process runs in the background.
- Monthly limit: building the database counts against your company's monthly limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header.
- Duplicates: removed automatically; searching the same area again only adds new companies.
- Consent to contact: before any marketing outreach you need the recipient's consent required by law.
Common problems
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Monthly limit exceeded" | Company limit used up | Wait for the new month or ask your manager to raise the limit |
| My industry is missing from the list | The list is prepared for your company | Write to WebImpact — we'll add the industry to your panel |
| Very few companies found | The area is too narrow | Widen the radius or add regions, and check the rough count before starting |
| No e-mail for some companies | We keep only general mailboxes, which aren't always public | This is normal — named-person addresses are discarded on purpose |
| Module not in the menu | Service not active for the company | Ask WebImpact to enable "Company scraper" |
