Dubbing and subtitles

This module gives your video a voice and subtitles. In one mode you add a voice-over read by our AI system in the language you choose; in the other you burn subtitles into the picture. You need no microphone and no editing software — you do it all in the panel and get a finished video file that lands in your Asset Library.

What it's for#

• Who it's for: people preparing video for social media, a website or a presentation who need a voice-over in another language or clean subtitles.
• Use it when: you have a finished clip (your own or one from the panel) and want to add a voice in the language you choose, or subtitles written from what is said in the recording.
• If you want to create a new video from scratch, use the Video module.

Before you start#

• Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
• Module enabled: "Dubbing and subtitles" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, contact your WebImpact manager.
• Source clip: a video file from your computer (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 200 MB) or a clip made earlier in the panel. It can be silent or keep its own sound — you set the volume later.

How to add a voice-over#

1. Open Dubbing and subtitles from your company menu and choose the voice-over mode.
2. Point to a source clip — upload a file from your computer or reach for a clip from the panel.
3. Pick the voice-over language.
4. Settle the script: describe in a few words what it should say and let the AI write it (matching the length of your clip), or paste your own text and have the AI polish it and add natural emotion. The text stays editable throughout.
5. Choose the voice: for the language you picked we surface voices that sound native in it. Narrow the list to female or male and hear each one on a short sample. Save the ones you like — separately for each language.
6. Once the voice-over is recorded, check that it fits the clip. The tempo is fitted automatically, but a slider adjusts it — along with the volume of the voice and of the original sound. The starting moment you drag on the timeline, and if the text still runs long the AI shortens it.
7. Compose the video. It goes to your Asset Library, and the module keeps a tile with the original clip and the voice-over.

How to add subtitles#

1. In the module choose the subtitle mode and point to a source clip.
2. The system writes out the spoken words for you. You can name the language or leave it to be detected. If you added a voice-over first, the timing is exact.
3. Correct the subtitle text, then choose the typeface, colours and animation.
4. Watch the effect live, and when it fits, burn the subtitles into the picture.
5. The finished subtitled video goes to your Asset Library.

Fields and options#

Limits and notes#

• File size: up to 200 MB per input clip (MP4, MOV or WebM).
• Two modes: voice-over and subtitles work independently — you can add a voice-over first and then subtitle the same clip (the timing will then be exact).
• Monthly limit: composing a video counts against your company's monthly limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header.
• Library: the finished video goes to your Asset Library, ready to download whenever you like. The tile with the original and the voice-over lives in this browser — you won't see it on another computer, but the file in the Library stays.
• Reuse: the same voice-over can go on another clip, and you can add subtitles to a finished video without starting over.
