3D models
Upload a few photos of an item from several sides and the module builds a 3D model you can spin around — the kind you see on shop product pages. You can inspect the finished model right in the panel, download it as a .glb file, and find it in your Asset Library.
What it's for
- Who it's for: people preparing product cards, presentations and shop pages who want to show an item in 3D.
- Use it when: you have several photos of a product from different sides and need a spinnable model to embed on a page or in a presentation.
- If you want just clean product photos on a white background, use Product photos instead.
Info
The module is in beta. The result depends mostly on the quality and number of your photos — a second attempt with better shots is sometimes worth it.
Before you start
- Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
- Module enabled: "3D models" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, contact your WebImpact manager.
- Photos: one to eight photos of the item from different sides — front, back, sides, top, bottom. Plain backgrounds with nothing blocking the item work best. Upload photos from your computer or pick them from your Asset Library.
How to build a 3D model
- Open 3D models from your company menu.
- In the Photos field, add shots of the item — upload from your computer or pick from the Library. The more sides you show (up to eight), the more faithful the model.
- (Optional) In the Note field add a small clarification, e.g. what the item is made of or how big it really is.
- Click Generate. Building a model takes longer than a photo — up to a few minutes. It runs in the background, so you can close the page and come back later.
- Open the finished model in one click in the preview — rotate and zoom it with a mouse or a finger to check the shape, the lettering and the logos.
- Download the
.glbfile in one click. The model is also saved to your Asset Library automatically, and earlier runs are listed below the studio.
Wskazówka
First time here? Launch the Tour (the "?" button in the panel) — it walks the screen step by step. This page covers what the Tour doesn't: every field, limits and troubleshooting.
Fields and options
| Field | What it does | Format / limit | Default | Required |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photos | The shots of the item the model is built from | up to 8 photos from several sides | — | yes (min. 1) |
| Note | A small clarification (material, size) | text | empty | no |
Limits and notes
- Number of photos: 1 to 8 per model. More sides = a more faithful shape, lettering and colours.
- One run gives you one model. Building takes up to a few minutes and runs in the background — a run already under way is waiting here when you return.
- Monthly limit: each built model counts against your company's monthly limit. Usage is shown live on the limit bar in the module header.
- File format: the output is saved as a 3D file (
.glb), ready to hand to whoever looks after your website or presentation. - The note counts for less than the photos — the shape, lettering and colours come mostly from the shots. Everything else is set up on our side.
Common problems
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The model is inaccurate or distorted | Too few shots or unclear photos | Add more sides of the product on a plain background and try again |
| Lettering or logos don't match | They weren't visible in the photos | Upload shots where the markings are readable |
| "Monthly limit exceeded" | Company limit used up | Wait for the new month or ask your manager to raise the limit |
| Module not in the menu | Service not active for the company | Ask WebImpact to enable "3D models" |
