Photo editor
This module reworks a photo you already have: it cuts out the background, adds or erases single objects, fills in more of the scene around it and improves quality. There is no design software to learn — you say what should change and our AI system does the rest. You see the outcome right away as a before-and-after.
What it's for
- Who it's for: people who already have a photo and want to fix it fast, without any design skills.
- Use it when: you have a specific frame and want to change one thing in it — cut out the background, paint over an unwanted object, draw more of the scene, or sharpen it up.
- If you want a full set of clean packshots from one photo, use Product photos. If you want the product in a ready-made setting, use Lifestyle photos.
Info
You work on one photo at a time, operation by operation. Changes stack on top of each other, and you can undo the last one or compare it with the version before the edit at any moment.
Before you start
- Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
- Module enabled: "Photo editor" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, contact your WebImpact manager.
- Photo: take one from your Asset Library (including images made in other modules) or upload your own from disk. You can also return to an earlier edit and carry on from there.
How to edit a photo
- Open Photo editor from your company menu.
- Choose a photo — from your Asset Library or uploaded from disk — or return to an earlier edit.
- Pick one operation: remove the background, edit by description, add or erase an object, crop, extend the frame or improve quality. The list depends on what we enabled for your company, so yours may be shorter.
- Set the operation's details. For an edit by description you write the change in plain words, e.g. "make the car red". To add or erase an object you paint over the spot with the brush or click the object and let the system select it; when adding, you also describe what should appear there.
- Run the operation. It usually takes anywhere from seconds to a few minutes — you can close the tab meanwhile, the result is waiting when you come back.
- Compare the outcome with the before/after slider, undo it, or stack another edit on top. A finished AI operation is saved to your Asset Library right away; download the file itself to disk.
Wskazówka
First time here? Launch the Tour (the "?" button in the panel) — it walks the screen step by step. This page covers what the Tour doesn't: every operation, limits and troubleshooting.
Operations
| Operation | What it does | How you point at the change | Monthly limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remove background | Cuts out the background, leaving the object alone | automatic | yes |
| Edit by description | Changes the photo according to your sentence | you type the change | yes |
| Add object | Adds a new element in the spot you choose | paint with the brush + describe what to add | yes |
| Erase object | Removes an unwanted element and fills the gap | paint with the brush or click the object | yes |
| Extend frame | Draws more of the scene around the photo | you pick the direction to extend | yes |
| Improve quality | Raises sharpness and detail | automatic | yes |
| Crop | Frames the photo to a chosen slice | you select the area | no (instant) |
Limits and notes
- One operation at a time: changes stack in sequence, and you can compare each result with the previous version using the before/after slider.
- Monthly limit: each AI operation counts as one slot of your company's monthly limit. Cropping is instant and does not use the limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header.
- Saving: anything the AI changes is saved to your Asset Library automatically. After a plain crop you save the result yourself.
- Replacing in the library: a photo taken from the library can be replaced with the edited version, so you don't pile up copies.
- Available operations: the list depends on your company's configuration — some operations may be switched off.
Common problems
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Monthly limit exceeded" | Company limit used up | Wait for the new month or ask your manager to raise the limit |
| Module not in the menu | Service not active for the company | Ask WebImpact to enable "Photo editor" |
| The operation I want is missing | Switched off in the company configuration | Ask your WebImpact manager to enable it |
| A crop disappeared after refreshing | After a plain crop you save the result manually | Save the crop before leaving the screen |
| An operation takes a while | Heavier changes can run up to a few minutes | You can close the tab — the result waits for you |
