Product descriptions

Add the product photos or type its details, and the module prepares a full product page: the description, meta title and meta description, benefits, specification, keywords, FAQ, image alt texts and structured data for search engines. It is all built from the facts you provide or that are visible in the photos - nothing is invented.

What it's for

  • Who it's for: people running a shop, preparing product pages and caring about search visibility.
  • Use it when: you have a new product to describe and want a ready content set straight away - from the description to the structured data - instead of assembling it by hand.
  • If you want a longer how-to piece or article, use the Blog module. For the product-page photos themselves, use Product photos.

Info

The description rests only on what you provide or what is visible in the photos. Whatever you leave out is not guessed - that is what keeps the text tied to the facts.

The module reads two kinds of material:

  • Product photos - up to four, uploaded or picked from "My products". They really are looked at: that is where the visible features and the per-photo alt texts come from.
  • Product details - the name, brand, category, materials, dimensions and features typed into the form.

The link is a third thing and works differently: it only FILLS THE FORM IN. Reading it in copies whatever the page exposes into the fields below - then you check and correct the details before generating. A description is never written straight from someone else's page.

A description format matched to your company

By default you get the full set of sections described below. If your company has its own guidelines - a different order of sections, your own headings, length limits, a fixed block at the end, an extra language or a glossary of names that must be used - we set that up on our side. The module then writes in that shape from the start and there is nothing to click: the result simply looks the way it should look for you.

Want such a format? Send your guidelines, or a few finished sample descriptions, to your WebImpact manager.

Before you start

  • Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
  • Module enabled: "Product descriptions" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, contact your WebImpact manager.
  • What to prepare: the product photos or its details. Only the product name is required.

How to prepare a description

The module has two tabs: New description and Library. Creating one happens in three steps, and each is its own screen of a single card - you move between them with Back and Next, or by clicking a step number at the top.

  1. Open Product descriptions from your company menu and stay on the New description tab.
  2. Step ① Where the product data comes from - add photos (uploaded or picked from "My products"). This is the most consequential choice in the module: with photos the AI looks at the product and describes what it sees; without them it writes only from the data you enter. You can also paste a link to the product page - it merely fills the fields below.
  3. Step ② Product data - check it, because the whole text rests on it. The Fill in with AI button sits above the fields and only touches blank ones - it never overwrites what you typed. Below it a short note and the collapsible Offer details (keyword, price, currency, availability, GTIN/EAN - they go into the structured data exactly as you type them).
  4. Step ③ Format and summary - this is where you see the shape the document arrives in: your company's format and the list of its sections. You also pick the language here. Below it sits a summary: how many photos you are attaching (and so whether the AI will look at them or write from the fields alone), the product name and the list of details you filled in - the last place you see the whole brief before queueing a run.
  5. Click Generate description - the button sits on the last screen, next to Back. If you cannot reach that screen, the product name is missing on the second one: Next is dimmed there and the reason sits right under it. The form clears at once and returns to the first screen, so you can queue the next product without waiting. One description usually takes a minute or two.
  6. After you click, the creator clears and returns to the first step, ready for the next product - you can queue several descriptions in a row. The run moves to the strip above the card: while it waits its turn you see its position in the queue, and the progress bar only starts moving once the work has really begun.
  7. When it finishes, the tile says the description is ready and takes you straight to the Library tab - open the preview there to switch language version, correct the text and download the file in your company's format. A bell notification tells you as well.

Tip

Several templates in one company. If we set up more than one format for you - a full product page and a short feed description, say - step 3 shows a Description format list and you pick which one this particular text should follow. With a single format there is no list: the card names the format you will get anyway.

Tip

Multilingual descriptions. A format can write several versions at once (for some companies that is Polish, English and French in a single run - counted as one generation). You then see a sentence naming the versions instead of a language choice, and a Language versions switch above the finished text. It drives everything at once - preview, copy, download and editing - so you cannot copy the Polish while looking at the English. The downloaded file carries the language code in its name. Edits apply only to the version you have open - the others stay as the AI wrote them, and the editor says so.

Tip

First time here? Launch the Tour (the "?" button in the panel) - it walks the screen step by step. This page covers what the Tour doesn't: every field, limits and troubleshooting.

Limits and notes

  • Photos: you can add up to four per product.
  • Reading data in: the "from the page" and "from the photos" buttons fill blank fields only - they never overwrite what you typed by hand.
  • Queue: a few descriptions are computed at the same time. When every slot is busy, the run's card shows your position in the queue instead of a progress bar - that means the run is waiting, not stuck. Don't click "Generate" again.
  • Monthly limit: every run counts against your company's monthly limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header.
  • Result: the preview shows the description laid out - headings, paragraphs and lists instead of markup. A switch in its corner flips it to Raw, which is exactly the form that goes to your shop or ERP. The Preview / Editing switch lets you fix any section by hand, with a length counter where the section has a budget. Copy the whole thing in one click, and when downloading pick the file format: Markdown, HTML or Comarch ERP XL markup, depending on what your company writes in. The structured-data file downloads separately. The table of facts shows what was read, where from and how confidently.
  • Library: a separate tab, stored on the company account - you can come back to earlier descriptions later, from any device. Each description is a row with an excerpt, its source, language and format; filters, search and pages are there too. The download icon on a row gives you the file in your company's format - with the extension that matches what your company writes in (.md, .html, or .txt for Comarch ERP XL markup); to download the same description in a different format, open the preview. Removing a row hides the description from the list; it does not give back the used allowance.
