SEO & AI visibility audit
Enter the address of a shop or company website and the audit works out the rest: it picks a representative sample of pages, checks technical SEO and structured data, measures real Google positions for buyer queries, finds the competitors who win those queries, and checks whether AI assistants that search the web find, cite and recommend your site. At the end it builds an action plan - every item with evidence - and a report you can download as a single HTML file.
What it's for
- Who it's for: people responsible for an online shop or a company website, marketing and search visibility.
- Use it when: you want to know what really limits your site's visibility in Google and in AI assistant answers, and where to start fixing.
- If you want to improve product page content right away, use Product descriptions. Longer how-to content, which the action plan often asks for, can be written in the Blog module.
Info
The audit measures rather than guesses: technical issues are checked by code, Google positions come from real search results, and AI visibility from real assistant answers. Every issue in the report has evidence and the list of pages it affects.
What the audit checks
- Technical setup and indexing - HTTP statuses, redirects, canonical, noindex, robots.txt and sitemaps.
- Content - titles, headings, descriptions, structured data and the content of product and category pages.
- Search visibility - your site's Google positions for buyer queries in the chosen country and language. Results are national, not narrowed to a city.
- Competitors - who wins those queries and how their pages differ from yours.
- AI visibility - whether two AI assistants that search the web find, cite and mention your site, and if they recommend others - why. We also check whether robots.txt lets AI assistant crawlers in.
- Action plan - priorities with evidence, ordered from what limits visibility the most.
Before you start
- Permissions: starting and deleting an audit - a role allowed to use services (member and above). Reading and downloading reports - any role with panel access; a role that cannot start audits sees the Reports tab and a button leading to it.
- Module enabled: "SEO & AI visibility audit" must be active for your company. If you don't see it in the menu, ask for it with the Request a module button on the dashboard (the “Modules you can enable” section) or via Report in the top bar.
- What you need: a public website address. Nothing else - the audit works out the queries, the page sample and the competitors on its own.
How to run an audit
The module has two tabs: New audit and Reports.
- In the company menu open SEO & AI visibility audit and stay on the New audit tab.
- Enter the site URL, e.g.
https://shop.com. The home page works best; a specific subpage works too and will definitely be in the sample. - Optionally expand Advanced options: the market (country and language of queries to Google and AI assistants - by default we work it out from the site) and the report language (Polish or English, independent of the panel language).
- Click Run analysis. A wrong address is flagged right next to the field; any other problem (limit, permissions) appears just below the button.
- The audit page opens with the progress of each stage. The audit runs in the background - you can close the page, and the bell in the panel tells you when the report is ready.
Tip
New to this module? Start the Tour (the "?" button in the panel) - it walks you through the screen step by step. This page covers what the Tour doesn't: limits, partial reports and troubleshooting.
Fields and options
| Field | What it's for | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Site URL | The site to audit - a full, public address starting with http:// or https:// | yes |
| Market | Country and language of queries to Google and AI assistants; empty = we work it out | no |
| Report language | Language of the report and the HTML file: Polish or English | no |
How long it takes and how the limit works
- Time: usually 8-15 minutes. The hard ceiling is 30 minutes - after that the audit closes the report with what it has collected.
- Monthly limit: each audit you start uses one unit of the company's monthly limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header. The WebImpact team sets the limit for your company.
- Returned to the limit: when the site does not respond at all (or points to an internal network) and the audit ends with an error, and also when our AI provider fails and the report loses key sections because of it, the audit is returned to the limit.
- Pace: a company can start up to six audits per hour. Typos and domains that don't exist do not count towards this; once you reach it, the message tells you how many minutes to wait.
- Interruptions on our side: if a system update interrupts an audit, it resumes on its own from where it stopped.
The report
The top of the report shows a summary, cards with the key numbers and the sources matrix (the "Data sources" block). Below are the tabs: the action plan first, then the sections - technical, indexability, site structure, product and category pages, content, search visibility, competitors, AI visibility and why AI does not recommend the site - plus the company profile. A section with no issues and no data gets no tab. Every issue has a severity, evidence and the list of pages it affects, and links in the summary take you straight to the right tab.
Download report (HTML) gives you one self-contained file with the whole report in the chosen language. Open it in any browser and send it to a client or a team without panel access.
What "Partially ready" means
A partial report shows everything that could be measured, and the sources matrix says which data is complete and which is partial, unavailable or skipped - and why. The most common causes: some sample pages or competitor pages could not be fetched, some queries to Google or to AI assistants did not come back, or the audit hit its time limit. If the report lost key sections because of a failure on our side, the notification encourages you to run it again and the audit is returned to the limit.
When the Google results section can be empty
- The search engine was temporarily unavailable or some queries did not come back.
- An earlier stage could not determine buyer queries - for example when the site has no readable content (just a login page, an anti-bot challenge). Then there is nothing to send to Google.
- The site does not appear in the results for those queries - the list of queries is there, but without your site's position. That is a result too: it shows who holds those places.
History and deleting
The Reports tab collects all of the company's audits: domain, date, duration and status. Click a row to open the report.
- Deleting: delete a finished audit with the bin icon in its row or the Delete audit button in the report header - after you confirm, the report and its results are gone, and the site address also disappears from the order history (in the company data export the order stays as "Audyt SEO (usunięty)", meaning "SEO audit (deleted)"). Deleting does not return the used limit. An audit that is still running cannot be deleted. A link to a deleted audit (for example from a notification) shows a message that the audit has been deleted, with a way to the Reports tab.
- Data retention: text fragments of pages and excerpts of AI assistant answers are deleted automatically 180 days after the audit finishes (fragments of static pages and competitor pages - right after the analysis, because they are no longer needed). Numbers, issues and the action plan stay - you can still open the report and download the HTML file, just without those fragments.
Common problems
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "We could not find this domain" | A typo in the address or the domain does not exist | Check the spelling and run it again |
| "This URL points to an internal network" | The address is not a public website | Enter an address reachable from the internet |
| "Too many audits in a short time" | The company started six audits within an hour | Wait as many minutes as the message says |
| "Too many invalid addresses in a short time" | Many attempts with an address we could not check (a typo, an internal address) | Check the spelling and try again after the time in the message |
| "Monthly audit limit reached" | The company's limit for this month is used up | Wait for the renewal date shown in the module header or ask for more with the Need more? button under the limit |
| Report "Partially ready" | Some sources were unavailable | Check the sources matrix; after a failure on our side, run it again |
| Empty Google results section | See "When the Google results section can be empty" above | Check that the site has readable content; run it again later |
| I see a no-access message instead of the form | Your role cannot start audits | Open the Reports tab or ask an administrator for a higher role |
| I don't see the module in the menu | The service is not active for the company | Ask WebImpact to enable the module |
