Deleting Facebook and Instagram data

Last updated:

This page explains how to delete from the WebImpact AI Marketing Studio platform the data we obtained from Facebook and Instagram after a Facebook Page or Instagram account was connected in the social media publishing module. There are three ways, and each works independently of the others.

1. What data we obtain from Facebook and Instagram

We do not obtain private messages, comment text or data about the people who follow the Page or account.

  • IDs, names and profile pictures of the connected Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts.
  • The app-scoped ID of the person who granted access. We do not obtain that person's name, email address or picture.
  • The Page access token, stored only in encrypted form.
  • IDs and links of the posts published through our platform.
  • Numeric insights for those posts and for the whole Page and Instagram account: views, reach, reactions, comments, saves, shares and followers.

2. Option 1: disconnect the account in the WebImpact panel

Open Social publishing → Channels and click “Disconnect” next to the account. We immediately delete the access token, the account ID and name, the links to published posts and all insights obtained for that account. Disconnecting requires permission to manage workspace settings (the company's admin or owner role in the panel).

3. Option 2: remove the app in your Facebook settings

Meta forwards the request to us automatically. We then delete every connection created by your account, across all companies on our platform, together with the insights we obtained. Meta shows you a confirmation code and a link where you can check the status of your request.

Removing the app without requesting data deletion immediately ends our access: we delete the token and mark the channels as disconnected.

  • On Facebook, open Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (in older views: Apps and websites).
  • Find the WebImpact app and click “Remove”.
  • In the confirmation dialog, send the data deletion request.

4. Option 3: contact us

Email [email protected] and tell us which Facebook Page or Instagram account the data belongs to. We will confirm by email once the data is deleted, no later than one month after receiving your request.

5. What remains after deletion

Content prepared in our panel, such as post captions and materials in the Asset Library, belongs to the company using the platform, not to Meta. It stays in that company's workspace until the company deletes it.

Posts already published on Facebook and Instagram remain on those platforms. You delete them directly on Facebook or Instagram.

Our event log keeps a record that the channel was disconnected, without tokens, account names or content.
